Programs

Participants in our Young Artist Program will find themselves fully immersed in an extraordinary journey that combines rich cultural exchange, invaluable instruction, and collaborative endeavors, igniting a wellspring of inspiration that will continue to fuel their artistic pursuits throughout their lives. Our program is flexible to accommodate individual needs.  Forge relationships that last a lifetime  with peers who share your passions.


The curriculum will revolve around the following:

Solo instruction: Five individual lessons in your instrument/voice type from our faculty and guest artists.

Chamber music: Collaboration with other performers in ensemble music with four coachings from faculty.

Theory, musicology, and composition: Daily classes to expand your knowledge in essential musical curriculum.

Lecture & master class series: Classes are offered by our faculty and other guest instructors that will inspire you to reach your performance potential.  The core of our program is a daily two-hour workshop: Piano Seminar, String Seminar, or Vocal Seminar depending on your focus area Each student is guaranteed at least two master class performances during the session if desired..

Performances: Opportunities to perform solos and chamber music in multiple recitals, including a special performance in Paris. 


Additional experiences include:

Paris Excursion:

Embark on a enriching day exploring Paris's iconic landmarks, including the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, Champs-Élysées, and the tranquil Luxembourg Gardens. Discover the city's rich history and culture while savoring delectable cuisine and browsing vibrant markets. And don't forget the highlight: the opportunity to perform in one of the world's most musical cities!

 

Fontainebleau Excursion:

Visit the magnificent Château de Fontainebleau, marveling at its exquisite architecture and lush landscapes, and the site of the Fontainebleau Festival. This is where Nadia Boulanger nourished  generations of international talent, including Aaron Copland and Philip Glass.

Typical Working Day Schedule:

Morning:

  • 8:00 AM - Breakfast
  • 9:00 AM - Choose from a range of enriching options: classes include yoga, music theory, composition, French language and culture. Scheduled practice sessions, lessons, and coaching.
  • 10:00 AM - Piano Seminar. Strings and vocalists scheduled practice, lessons, and coaching.

Afternoon:

  • 12:00 PM - Lunch

  • 2:00 PM - Vocal Seminar and String Seminar, Pianists scheduled practice, lessons classes, and coaching continue.

  • 4:00 PM - Snack break (le quatre-heures)

  • 4:30 PM - Participate in a master class. Scheduled practice, classes, lessons, and coaching.

Evening:

  • 6:00 PM - Enjoy or perform in an informal concert if one is scheduled, otherwise lessons, coaching sessions, optional classes, or practice.

  • 7:00 PM - Dinner. Evening outdoor sports and games to unwind and connect with fellow musicians.

 

We invite composers of all ages to join our Composition Roundtable, offering one-on-one interactions with the resident composers. and group conferences.

Whether you're an emerging talent or an experienced composer, our program provides a supportive community where you can explore music and composition, dissect form and structure, and prepare your new compositions for performance.

Our expert faculty provides guidance and mentorship to help you refine your musical ideas. One of the program's highlights is the opportunity to showcase your work through readings and performances recorded and archived for your portfolio. Join us and open a world of musical creativity, collaboration, and growth.

  • 8:00 AM - Breakfast

  • 9:00 AM - Optional classes including yoga, French language and culture, music theory, composition and form, Scheduled practice sessions, lessons, and coachings.

  • 10:30 AM - Composers Seminar, a dedicated session where you'll receive invaluable feedback and insights on your works in progress. Additional scheduled practice, lessons, and coaching sessions are provided to support your artistic development.

Afternoon:

  • 12:00 PM - Lunch

  • 2:00 PM - Faculty and students discuss their work. Composers are invited to attend Vocal and Instrumental Seminars.

  • 4:00 PM - Break

  • 4:30 PM - The afternoon crescendos with a master class, an opportunity to present and discuss your compositions in a collaborative setting. Scheduled practice, lessons, and coaching round out your day, ensuring your progress remains on track.

Evening:

  • 6:00 PM - additional coachings, optional classes, and work time.

  • 7:00 PM - Dinner, recreation
